GM gets in on ride sharing and autonomous cars in a big way.

Hardly a day goes by in GradID without discussing either the technology or businesses behind ride sharing and autonomous cars. For awhile I've heard murmurs about how automakers are investing in these new businesses to diversify their revenue streams and offset losses incurred by less people buying cars. This article clarifies GM's strategy better than any I've seen. It's interesting to note that the very companies that threaten auto sales and made freelance driving a thing may help save carmakers and soon make those new drivers obsolete.
